The piston has been professionally serviced, cleaned, and tested. The pen fills, expels, and writes properly.
This is an authentic vintage 149 with honest collector-grade condition. One narrow cap band is missing, and there is a small cap lip crack/flaw. Both issues are shown clearly in the photographs and reflected in the asking price.
The pen retains its original 14C nib, ebonite feed, and amber window. The amber window remains visible under strong light but has darkened with age, as commonly seen on vintage examples.
