This small, wonderfully charming Victorian tabletop croquet set—tucked into its original wooden box and ready, once again, for play.
These sets were made for evenings indoors, when the table was cleared and the pace of the day softened. A quieter version of croquet, scaled for the parlor—played not for competition, but for the simple pleasure of it.
There is something irresistible here: the hand-painted balls, the slender turned mallets, the tiny hoops waiting to be arranged just so. It feels almost like a scene waiting to be set.
Left out on a table, it becomes an object of curiosity. Picked up, it becomes an invitation.
Why We Love It
It captures a kind of leisure that feels far away now—unhurried, tactile, quietly social.
And yet, it fits so naturally into modern life. A piece that doesn’t ask for much, only that you notice it… and perhaps, eventually, play.
Styling Notes
Leave this set out where it can be discovered—on a coffee table, library shelf, or tucked into a guest room for an unexpected moment.
It pairs beautifully with books, wood tones, and collected objects. A conversation piece, certainly—but also something more playful than that.
