A refined and architectural pair of French crystal centerpiece elements by Baccarat, dating to the Art Deco period, circa 1930.

Originally conceived as part of a larger surtout de table, these sculptural crystal channels were designed to be arranged across a dining table and filled with low floral compositions—transforming the table into a continuous landscape of glass and greenery.

This matched pair forms a complete oval centerpiece on its own—an elegant and highly usable configuration that reflects the restraint and clarity of early modern design.
The form is defined by its ribbed structure, exceptional weight, and the unmistakable brilliance of true lead crystal. Understated yet commanding, it carries a quiet architectural presence that feels equally at home in both traditional and contemporary interiors.

The design originates in the early 20th century, likely introduced around the 1915–1920 period, and produced here during Baccarat’s mature Art Deco era. Both elements retain molded Baccarat and Depose marks, indicating a registered design.

Why We Love It
This is not simply a decorative object, but part of a larger design tradition—where the table itself becomes a composed landscape. The balance of form, weight, and restraint speaks to Baccarat’s shift into modernism, where even functional objects were treated as sculpture.
As a complete pair, it offers both historical significance and immediate usability—rarely found together in such condition.

Styling Notes
Style with low greenery or simple white florals to echo its original intention, or leave unfilled as a sculptural centerpiece. Particularly striking on long dining tables, consoles, or layered into a minimalist interior for contrast.
